Any comments? I haven't actually done any of this, but I have done some research with a view to installation, funding willing! ;-) My understanding is that DDS (aka Fastway) lets you go up to 2Mb, and all you need in terms of hardware (other than what terminating equipment Telstra provide) is a router with a synchronous port. Compare this with ISDN, where your maximum bandwidth is 256k for BRI, and that requires a more expensive router. Beyond that you need PRI (primary rate), which requires much more expensive routers + PRI cards (probably somewhere in the order of $15-$20k for hardware). On the other hand, I believe that installation and ongoing charges for Fastway are marginally (?!) higher, although this may have changed since I looked at it last year. Hope this helps.
