I am not sure of the circumstances relating to this name change, however
australian clients are still free to connect to mpx.sydney.oz.org and
people with the .edu.au, .oz.au, .id.au, .gov.au and .csiro.au domains are
free to use wollongong.oz.org.

This re-affirms my post a short time ago addressing the klining of .net
clients on .au servers and all is explained at www.oz.org under "what
server should I use"

I, or someone else will address this list with the situation regarding
connections to aussie.sydney.oz.org as it becomes available.

As a personal view only, I believe the best thing is a local CNAME
pointing to the server of your choice, in which you can pre-configure MIRC
or whatever program you distribute to your users (if any) to point to your
local irc.yourdomain.com.au, which as above, is just a cname to whatever
irc server you want your users to use. Of course, they will roam after a
while - but it's a good start, and if users ring up about why can't I
connect here there or otherwise, you can just direct them to use
irc.yourdomain.com.au.

anyway,

cheers.
