Glen Turner has attended an SA AUIX meeting as a SAARDNet representative and expressed that SAARDNet is interested in peering with AUIX, however, SAARDNet has not yet made any commitment, one way or another, on becoming a member of AUIX. Such a decision will not be made until the AVCC's negotiations with DoCA over the impact of the Telecommunications Act 1997 have been completed. SAARDNet is a long-time member of CIX, another Adelaide peering group managed by Internode Systems. SAARDNet has informed CIX by mail of the change in laws effecting network inter-connect. It is currently allowing CIX time to formulate a response. This is believed to be in line with DoCA policy on transitional arrangements. Apologies for any confusion.
