My mate is on an IINET ADSL 2 DSLAM. He is running at 11Mb down, 1Mb up, and very happy with it. It has unseated the current cable residential networks from being the fastest link speeds in Australia. Let's just say he didn't need to think twice to purchase a new $125 ADSL modem to upgrade his speed from 1.5Mb to 11Mb. Its also ADSL2+ ready so he eagerly awaits the upgrade to 22Mb's - or whatever the ADSL2+ spec will deliver. Cheers, Glenn. -----Original Message----- From: m a j o r d o m o - o w n e r @ k o a l a . a u s s i e . n e t [m a i l t o : m a j o r d o m o - o w n e r @ k o a l a . a u s s i e . n e t On Behalf Of Dave Walmsley Sent: Wednesday, 6 April 2005 3:34 PM To: Howard Lowndes Cc: a u s s i e - i s p @ a u s s i e . n e t Subject: Re: [Oz-ISP] New modem anyone They are not quite standards..but I understand some trials are in progress. e.g this article on Whirlpool http://whirlpool.net.au/article.cfm/1456 or on the ITU http://www.itu.int/rec/recommendation.asp?type=folders&lang=e&parent=T-REC-G .992.5 it is 'pre publication'.
