That high level is too high for the Cisco WIC if the cable length is too short, it overloads. In our case the two ends were in adjacent racks with a cable run of about 3 mtrs when the spec says 30mtrs. We eventually got a Telstra tech who was across the problem and dropped a balun in and all came good. The fastest fix is to put a cable of 30 mtrs length or more in the path (CAT5 is fine for this task), the best fix is to get a proper balun installed to drop the level or an intermediate is to make up your own balanced pad and drop that in, 6db or thereabouts.... > Any assistance, suggestions (other than to get rid of the service) are > welcomed. > HTH. We have found the service to be rock-solid once we got that fix in, before it was as unreliable as could be.
